Saturday, January 15, 2005NT Survey TestFeel really stupid about some things I didn't put down (it was right there on the tip of my tongue....) and a few I did. But, all in all, I feel good about the test. Which in no way, shape, or form translates into "I'm pretty sure I tested out." I'll let ya know. H. C. jotted this down on 6:45 AM. (( 6:45 AM 0 comments
Thursday, January 13, 2005Wrapping upAlso, had some examples this morning how we use this in our own life/pastoral situations. Best hour I've spent here this week, easily. Get to come back in a few months for a debate. My partner and I will be advocating women's use of headcoverings in worship--mostly as a way for us to think our way through the issue. Partner keeps joking that our wives should be nervous :) (laughed the first time, but he's said it enough that it's past amusing). My only disappointment is that there's no opportunity for cross-exam in the debate format, that's where you can really push the positions and find out which is stronger. But, oh well, less of a chance for me to get tongue-tied trying to think up quick answers. Tomorrow, I try to test out of NT Survey--from everything I've heard this week, I really want to pass. Should've spent the last couple of weeks studying. Ah well. H. C. jotted this down on 4:04 PM. (( 4:04 PM 0 comments
Monday, January 10, 2005Breathing a little easier...Now just have to buckle down and get my way through the work (which will be a smidgen easier w/o the weight of that paper bearing down on me). H. C. jotted this down on 4:03 PM. (( 4:03 PM 0 comments
LogicAll I know is that I have several partially done exercises/tests for class this morning, and even those things which are done I'm not incredibly confident with. It's quite possible that with a little explanation from Dr. Pipa everything will make sense--that's pretty much my only hope now, come to think of it. H. C. jotted this down on 4:32 AM. Friday, January 07, 2005Practically Vulcan by the end of next weekGreenville Sem. After the traveling difficulties I had getting here, most of last night was trying to stay awake and get done w/my work. It was tough, and while I can go toe-to-toe with sleep just fine every few days, but I just can't do it 2 days in a row. Ended up spending a lot more time unconscious than I'd or even realized 'til I was awakened. But anyway, class was nice today. Good text, too. It came pre-highlighted. Is this a new trend in textbook printing? I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the ink there. "This is highlighted? I paid new!" Then I realized that the color was a perfect match for the other colors in the book and it was perfect--no streaking, no getting extra words, etc. Not to spend so much time on it, but it was pretty weird. The workload is fairly daunting, but if I have a good night and a good Saturday, I'll be on top of it. Actually, I might get ahead before class on Monday (stop laughing, Jamie, it could happen). H.
