Friday, September 17, 2004Catching upHistory of Philosophy is very interesting, sadly we've done three lectures and we haven't gotten up to Aristotle--and we have to get through the 20th Century! The lectures are--at this point--pretty much straight from one of our two textbooks. I'm hoping that changes when we finish that (post-Aristotle). The videoconferencing technology (I think I said this already) is pretty shoddy, the audio was horrible last time (I think I missed the Internet student roll call). But on the whole, I'm getting my money's worth. Intro to Reformed Theology--via mp3 of Morton Smith's lectures from 2 years ago--is really great. But on the other hand, it's tough to take notes on lectures on the WCF. I'm not the world's greatest expert on the Confession, but I've been through this thing what seems like a million times. I am gaining from it--don't get me wrong--and it's great to get Dr. Smith's insights. But it does seem like review... Will try to be more regular in this, but figure I should keep my focus on the work, rather than updating you on it... H. C. jotted this down on 9:50 AM. (( 9:50 AM 0 comments
