Notes, comments, thoughts on my studies at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary |

Wednesday, August 24, 2005Just in the nick of timeThe last of my textbooks arrived today, A Preparatory Grammar to New Testament Greek by Sid Dyer. Scanned through the first few chapters and found the following under "Accent Marks." Some grammarians emphasize the rules of accentuation. The student's time, however, is better spent on more important matters.Wonderful. Never saw the points of accent marks once I was taught that they were added to the NT texts, and therefore couldn't get myself to learn them last time I took at shot at Greek. Got my Hermeneutics texts last week, and aside from one being very used (and wasn't advertised as such), am very happy with them. Sampled Berkhof's Principles of Biblical Interpretation (tad on the pedantic side)as well as Kaiser and Silva's Introduction to Biblical Hermeneutics (am really enjoying reading this one). Might take Blomberg's Interpreting the Parables on the road trip with me this weekend to read through (it appears to be the best one suited for that). Am very excited this term to be digging into more, um, seminarial type of work. Not that I had anything against the stuff I did last you, but Philosophy and Logic don't do as much to remind me about the nature of the work as these classes do, y'know? H. C. jotted this down on 2:31 PM. (( 2:31 PM
